The Martifer Group has been operating its wind tower factory in Oliveira de Frades, Portugal since 2004.  This site has a manufacturing capacity of 400 “state-of-the-art” towers per year that are sold world-wide.  In September 2008, Martifer announced that it would establish a plant in the United States – in Texas, in the second half of 2009.

In 2004, Martifer Energia began the process of implementing a management system integrating quality, safety and environment, according to norms NP EN ISO 9001:2000, NP EN ISO 1400I:1999 and OHSAS 1800I: 1999. In 2007 obtains the Certification of Management System of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI), according to norm NP 4457.
